Abstract The contribution presents research results oriented to utilization of oxygen converter flue dust in form of briquettes by their recycling into charge of oxygen converter. Influence of briquettes additions into the converter on some parameters of refining process was studied, mainly on phosphorus and sulphur distribution coefficients, on iron contents in slag, on basicity of slag. Also influence of additions on slag composition, on converter flue dust compositions and on composition and cleanness of produced steel was studied. The research was subdivided into two parts. In the first one, data from heats, produced in 190 t converter, when 1000 kg, 2000 kg and 3000 kg additions were made, were evaluated. In the second one, statistic evaluation of larger set of heats, made with additions of briquettes, was performed. No negative influence of converter flue dust briquettes additions on regime of refining and on quality of produced steel was found. Converter flue dust recycling resulted in increase of zinc contents in converter slag and in converter flue dust.
