Abstract                                             
	Integrated pollution prevention and control is a set of measures aimed at the prevention of environmental pollution, reduction of emissions into air, water and soil. The paper deals with the Act 245/2003, its objectives, purpose, reasons for its adoption, and tools for its implementation. There is given basic information about prevention and control of the pollution as well as a list of selected activities directly connected with metallurgical and mineral processing industry and waste treatment.
