Abstract In this work the different preparation methods of composites reinforced by particles were analyzed. Particle composite can be made by using the following methods: powder metallurgy, squeeze casting of fibers or particles preforms, rheocasting, high temperature reaction in melted matrix. The advantage of concrete method depends on selected materials and technical equipment of laboratory. Particles reinforced aluminium matrix composites possess high-specific elastic modulus, high-specific strength, good wear resistance and excellent properties at elevated temperature over conventional aluminium alloys. The strength of aluminium alloys improves significantly due to the addition of Al2O3 particles. Waste materials can successfully replace elemental powders that are used to preparation of composite materials for example by waste arises from Al production. Secondary products from Al production (Al dross) fairly burden environment not only by their amount but also by their composition. Besides they contain a large amount of chemical compounds, which in the case of their treatment can find further applications. Al drosses are secondary products of Al production. They arise in consequence of high affinity of Al to oxygen on the melted aluminium surface. These drosses contain a large amount of Al in elemental form. Their processing is in the mainly focused to extraction of aluminium; the content of aluminium in drosses is in the range of about 10 - 35 %. Another kind of dross creates at refining by purification of Al. This kind of dross contains protecting salts, based on chlorides, fluorides, aluminium oxides, (aluminium oxides occur in drosses in amount about 7-15%) metal Al, nitrides and aluminium carbides. The aim of this work is to prepare the Al based material. For preparing Al-Al2O3 a suitable part of Al dross (oxides) like secondary phase composite will by used.
