| THE EFFECT OF GASEOUS PHASE COMPOSITION AND IRON ORE:IRON CONCENTRATE RATIO ON SINTERED BED PERMEABILITY |
Abstract
The contribution deals with observation of both influence of sucked-out gaseous phase composition and iron ore:iron concentrate ratio on sinter bed permeability during sintering. The experiments were carried out in laboratory scale at constant sucked-out gaseous phase rate. The temperature of sucked-out gaseous mix was 120°C and composition was: 3.5 - 4.5% CO2; 18% O2; 15 - 30 g.m-3 H2O. The comparative experiments with sucked-out ambient air were realized, too. The iron ore:iron concentrate ratio was 1:1 and1:1.5.
The results showed that moisture contents in sucked-out gaseous phase in given range has'nt significant effect on sinter bed permeability during sintering. Little pressure drop increase was caused by greater amount of condensed moisture in raw mix zone. However, great influence has iron ore:iron concentrate ratio. It was find out the pressure drop in pipeline was much lower at ratio 1:1.5. This phenomenon can't be generalized because of influence of granulometric composition of the other charge components.
