STUDIES ON DISTRIBUTION OF MACERALS AND THE COAL TYPES WITHIN THE COLLECTIVE GROUND COAL CHARGE
Abstract
Coals used for the coke production are characterized by different characteristics. The objective of charge preparation is a preparation of qualitative homogeneous mixture from various types of coal with optimal granularity. Due to the coal different grindability the heterogeneous distribution of coal may occur in the charge granularity composition after collective grinding of coal. A change of some coal type within the certain granularity grade of the charge can be a reason of coke quality variation.
The results of the studies of maceral and type composition of the coal charge granularity grades are presented in this paper. The charges of different coal composition prepared under operation conditions were included into the analysis. The analyses were made on the samples of coal charges and on the samples of following granularity grades – under 0.2 mm, 0.2-0.5 mm, 0.5-3.0 mm and over 3 mm. According to the results of microscopic analysis all samples expressed relative homogeneous distribution of macerals and type composition as well within the whole granularity profile. The variations from the average values were very low within the granularity grades.
The results did not express the effect of coal mixture collective grinding on an increase of charge non-homogeneity.
