TIN FROM AMORTIZATION WASTE
Abstract
The recovery of useful metals from recyclable electronic wastes is one of the most important scopes of technological research and development. Applying an adequate processing technology to the recyclable electronic wastes is likely to produce high performance products. The processing technology of electronic scrap consists of two major steps: preparation of the raw material and extraction of metals. Extraction of metallic values from electronic scrap materials had predominantly been carried out by pyrometallurgical techniques. Hydrometallurgical methods can be environmentally safer, can offer better separation of metals. The processing is economically and technically efficient and environmental friendly because it removes the dumped recyclable wastes placed besides the industrial platforms.
A hydrometallurgical method for the recovery of tin from electronic scrap materials is suggested. We are presenting the results of experiments for leaching of the Sn-Pb alloy and real electronic scrap material in rotating autoclave. The pressure oxidation in alkaline solution has been shown to be an efficient technique for decomposition tin and lead. The experimental program consisted of four parts. Process options were based on the following conditions: temperature 200°C, time 1 hour for the first series of experiments. We studied the effects of initial oxygen pressure on transfer of tin and lead into the solution. In the second series of experiments we investigated effect of temperature on dissolution tin and lead under oxygen pressure 0,5 and 0,1 MPa. In the third series of experiments we investigated effect of holding time. In fourth series we leached the sample of real electronic scrap. The brazing alloy was dissoluted at these conditions: temperature 200°C, 1 MPa oxygen pressure and time 1 hour.
We assign following parameters of process:
temperature: max. 150°C
initial oxygen pressure : max. 0,5 MPa
period of process : 30-60 min.
