THERMAL WASTE TREATMENT WITH USING OF PLASMA DECOMPOSITION
Abstract
A comparison of possible waste treatment processes- combustion and pyrolysis is performed on basis of produced gases amount. Both methods are explained on decomposition of cellulose. The amount of pyrolytical gases is about 30 % of gases produced by combustion. From energy loss point of view the pyrolysis is more advantageous. The decomposition of pyrolytical gases containing toxic or hazardous compounds was tested using plasma reactor. Two different concentrations of tested compounds were injected into plasma source in gaseous form mixed with argon.
Used equipment is not sufficiently leak proof and decomposition gases are partially combusted to water and carbon oxides. These compounds disable precise concentration determination. In the spectrum of chlorbenzene decomposition products the C-Cl bound was not detected even by using of high sensitivity.
After test equipment improvement new test will be made and the influence of melted metal will be tested too. The plasma decomposition of pyrolytical gases seems to be suitable methods be treatment of toxic organic compounds event. chlor contents.
