INVESTIGATION ON THE DISSOLUTION RATE OF ANTIMONY FROM STIBNITE BY ROTATING DISC METHOD
Abstract
The paper presents the results of experimental investigation of the rate of dissolution of stibnite in the aqueous solutions of Na2S + NaOH of various concentrations and at different temperatures. The results obtained by experiments were used for calculation of the apparent activation energy of the process. According to its magnitude, Ea=29,3 +/- 0,7 kJ.mol-1, the dissolution of Sb2S3 is controlled by mixed kinetics. The rate of dissolution of stibnite increases with the growing concentration of Na2S and NaOH in the leaching solution. Above 0,6395 mol.dm-3 Na2S the rate of dissolution of Sb2S3 remains constant.
