INFLUENCE OF LOW TEMPERATURE ANNEALING AFTER CONTROLLED ROLLING ON YIELD STRESS AND ELONGATION OF LOW CARBON STRUCT. STEELS OF VARIOUS CHEM. CONCEPT.
Abstract
This paper presents of laboratory research results. Influence of low temperature annealing on strength and elongation of microalloyed steels (low alloyed steels) were analyzed. Investigated mechanical characteristics (yield point, tensile strength, elongation) which was achieved are comparison with mechanical characteristics achieved after controlled rolling and cooling. Hot rolled strips final properties are defined by their chemical composition, thermal – deformation mode during controlled rolling an cooling mode to coiling temperature after controlled rolling. For the microalloyed steels (low alloyed steels) the application of low temperature annealing allows simultaneous yield point and to elongation increase in comparison to as hot rolled material. Three chemical conception of low carbon steels were investigated: Mn-Si-Nb-Ti-Mo-B; Mn-Nb-V; Mn-Nb. For steel Mn-Si-Nb-Ti-Mo-B the utmost effect of low temperature annealing on simultaneous yield point and to elongation increase were obtained. Application of low temperature annealing after hot deformation gives yield point increase for Mn-Si-Nb-Ti-Mo-B steel up to about 200 MPa. At the same time it allows increase elongation by 50 % in comparison with state after hot (controlled) rolling. The effect of low temperature annealing at given conditions of controlled rolling and cooling is primary depend on chemical composition of steel.
