INFLUENCE OF CASTING SPEED ON THE SURFACE QUALITY OF CONTINUOUS CASTING SLABS
Abstract
Surface quality of continuous casted slabs is the title, which has more attention nowadays. The reasons for that resonance are not only the production requirements. There are also other requirements which are from customer's sides. The final product quality is connected with the quality of slabs. We have been studying the rapidity influence of casting speed to the surface quality of continuous cast slabs in the U.S. Steel company.
Our research was orientated to the splits elimination which exists on the slabs surface in connection with the continuous casting speed at "DZ Oceliareň " department. This research acceptated all important parameters by continuous casting. Valuation parameter in continuous casting process was criteria for study and application parameters for improvement quality of countinuous casted slabs and its consequently final products. This work present direct effect increase of casting speed to surface quality of slabs. The research in this article is devoted in the three blocks of quality marks. The positive influence of casting speed was observed in all of blocks.
In the end of my article are given proposals for process of casting speed optimalization. By using of proposals, which are giving above, we can obtain increasing of surface slabs quality.
